The front gate, built in 1915, was located at the original entrance to the hospital. The gate was demolished when the entrance was moved father down Cameron Street to it's current location across from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex. The original entrance was located at the intersection where Cameron Street and Arsenal Blvd currently meet. When Arsenal Blvd was expanded it crossed over the original hospital entrance and the location of the gate. Today (2010) the road that was the original entrance still exists, but it dead ends short of where the gate was located.

Located on the hill side in front of the administration building is a beautiful stone walkway and staircase. It leads all the way from the front of the administration building to the hollow where the water works and morgue are located. Today the hill side around the walkway has grown up with many trees and bushes. At one time however this area was a beautiful arboretum with carefully maintained landscapes.
